1 Review on “Saleh Law Group”

    1. Richard Lawrence Stenlund Saleh Law Group
      Overall Rating:
      2

My real name is Richard Stenlund. I can not recommend the Saleh Law Group at all due to some extremely unethical behavior they demonstrated. On the one hand, they did a good job with my mother in law’s habitability case.

But the job they did on my own habitability case was absolutely horrendous and left us in an extremely vulnerable position, where we remain to this day.

Make your own decisions, but please read this review and exercise caution when seeking legal representation, as your choice of attorneys will have a longlasting effect.

We were discriminated against when we rented the property and currently have black mold, water damage, rats, our landlord installed a hidden camera and repeatedly trespassed onto the property to take pictures of our home, we were harassed and repairs were ignored. Our son was almost killed due to landlord negligence and may have a traumatic brain injury as a result. It’s the worst habitability case I have ever heard of.

Opposing counsel had already made a settlement offer when I reached out to the Saleh law group, but I wanted to negotiate a better offer. I had filed several complaints with the county and opposing counsel retaliated by sending a 10 day covenant or quit notice to us as a form of harassment.

Rony worked on the case for LESS THAN one day. We signed the retainer agreement, and then he almost immediately withdrew representation when he was unable to negotiate a settlement that SAME DAY. His excuse was that he claimed that opposing counsel was going to file for an eviction “in the next couple of weeks” and that Rony only handled habitability cases.

Habitability and eviction cases go hand in hand because a slumlord will almost always try to file an eviction once you begin filing complaints. Even if a firm doesn’t represent eviction cases, it has no bearing on the habitability case, and there is zero reason to withdraw representation for a solid habitability case.

Withdrawing is one of the slimiest things I have ever seen an attorney do.

Additionally, he lied to me and told me that them filing for an eviction was going to hurt our chances of renting a different place whether we win or not. That simlly isn’t true. Nobody can see an eviction for 60 days after it’s filed, and it’s only when the eviction is successful that the eviction shows on your record.

A *good* law firm will specialize in related fields, such as habitability AND eviction AND personal injury and potentially even things like discrimination, as cases like these are almost always multi-faceted. If you file a habitability complaint, they will almost always try to evict you

A *good* law firm would see this as an opportunity to collect a much larger settlement, but instead, Saleh Law Group dropped our case after reaching out to opposing counsel for a ‘quick’ settlement. It made us look weak and foolish to opposing counsel and has significantly hurt our case.

My recommendation is to not deal with ‘mom and pop’ law firms like this and instead work with a large firm that has many attorneys specializing in different areas of expertise.

The problem with small law firms is that they will always go after the quick and easy money – the low hanging fruit – and will not do the work necessary to obtain a larger settlement. They will avoid going to trial because they are understaffed, ill equipped, and likely can not afford a protracted litigation process.

To get dropped in the middle of a case for a made-up reason like this was absolutely unethical. I had mentioned earlier in this review that they did a good job on my mother in law’s case, but in actuality, I did most of the work. I filed all of the complaints with the city and county, I took all the pictures, and I did the majority of the communication with opposing counsel.

My own case is likely worth 250k out of court and likely 7 figure in a jury trial; it keeps getting worse. But a small firm like this could never handle a case like ours, and the Saleh Law Group couldn’t even manage a 40k settlement and withdrew representation when we needed them the most.
